Seventh Generation Healthy Baby Home Party

I recently got an opportunity to host Healthy Baby Home Party courtesy of Generation good community of  Seventh generation brand.

This is what I received in my party pack. As you can see, it was a big box. Isn't this amazing!!

There was a coloring panel on the other side of the box. I found out to be very cute.

When my little one saw the coloring panel, she asked, mommy where are my colors? So, I gave her crayons, to let her creativity flow. What a fun way to utilize the box :)

I opened the box, and these were the goodies inside it.

There were recycled paper bags to fill in the samples for guests. This shows that seventh generation thinks a lot about our environment.

All of my guests were Moms, So, I prepared goody bags for them by filling each paper bag with Seventh generation Natural dish liquid sample, Seventh Generation baby Free & clear wipes, Seventh Generation Natural laundry detergent sample, Zarbees baby cough syrup sample, Plum Organics mighty mealtime oatmeal, Mac & cheese samples.

I also included an envelope with seventh generation product coupons and information pamphlets.

This is how I set up the party table on the day of the party.

Party Day

I started the party by handing over, "The Agenda" of the party to each guest. We watched "A Wake-Up Story Video" . This video was an eye opener for all of us. This showed how food and cosmetic industry use so many chemicals without any regulations. This video made us realize on an importance to know, what is in our food, baby products or other household products that we use on daily basis.

After watching this video, we all decided,  to ask, the cleaning industry to #comeclean on their labels. Because we have the right to know, what ingredients are their in our cleaning products.

Then, we played Healthy Home Bingo, in which their were 3 prizes. The Bobble bottle, 2 Extra Seventh Generation goody bags. The playing bingo was perfect for sharing healthy home tips. This was a learning experience for me as well as my guests.

After the party, I handed over the goody bags to my guests.

They all told me that it was very enjoyable and learning experience for them. I got a positive response from them towards Seventh Generation brand.

Healthy Essentials: My favorite community

A mother can understand the language of her child before even he starts speaking, just by child's tone. That much understanding and compassion a mother has. The motherhood brings experience and knowledge of so many unknown things that a women never encountered before. I can say that with my own experience. I have learnt so many things till now and I bet there are many more to learn in this journey of motherhood. I love being part of this journey.
But many times, a mother do feel clueless or look desperately for answers of any questions she has, or need any creative ideas or just a few words of appreciation.
I found my answers in Healthy Essentials community. This is a community started by Johnson & Johnson family of companies. This free service provides real-time insights personalized for you- to help you care of yourself and your family.

How they do it?? It has tips & tools for everyone. Great ideas Like, Beauty tips for mom on the Go, Meals ideas, recipes, Gift ideas for Dad and savings that make it easier to manage everyday and the unexpected.

Summer time is perfect for outdoor activities with family. I was planning a beach vacation with my child and husband but was really skeptical because we never took a beach vacation with her before. I want to make sure I pack everything to make sure she is safe in the sun and water. I turned to Healthy Essentials for how to protect the baby in sun ideas and what essentials I need to pack. The article on protection of child from sun really made me understand what I would need there.

I made a separate kit for my child's essentials in sun. I kept following products in it:

1. JOHNSON'S hand & face wipes - To clean her face and wipe the dirty hands when she will play in the sand

2. AVEENO Baby Natural Protection Lotion sunscreen with Broad spectrum SPF 50- To apply on her body which will keep her safe from harmful UVA and UVB sun rays. I printed the coupon for Aveeno from Healthy Essentials and used to buy this sunscreen.

3. AVEENO Baby Natural Protection Face stick Broad spectrum SPF 50-  To protect her face from harmful sun rays.

4. AVEENO Baby Wash & Shampoo

5. A pair of sunglasses

6. A hat and swimsuit

So, that's how, Healthy Essentials became my favorite community to turn to for ideas, savings and support.

If you are interested  in savings, printable coupons, products and much more great ideas, Join the Healthy Essentials Family for free. I bet you will like it, like I do.

Have you checked out Healthy Essentials yet? Did you like it. Let me knowin comments, your opinion.

BRAUN No Touch + Forehead Thermometer Review & Demo #BraunTherms

I have heard this saying that " when you became a mom, lot of things changes, the way you used to do certain things, the way you used to think, it all changes." I now agree with this saying 100%. And, I am sure, a mom will understand what I am saying now. I think the reason of that is the love, compassion and care that only a heart of mom can hold for her child. Whom she can never see in even little bit of pain or discomfort. And, I am no different. :):)

When we have to take our daughter for routine vaccination, I just close my eyes because I cant see her in pain of that vaccine injection. Hubby really helps at that time in holding my girl. My baby is very wiggly and active. She cant sit or stand at one place for few seconds. So, when we take her for routine doctor visits, it become difficult to hold her at one place for the height, weight and temperature tests. She hates when the nurse swipes the forehead thermometer on her forehead to take body temperature. She cries so loud and moves her head here and there. The story is no different at home when she gets fever, If she is awake, hubby has to hold her and I takes her temperature after several attempts. If she is sleeping, the moment we swipe the forehead thermometer on her forehead the beep sound of temperature wakes her up and she starts crying in both the cases. Whenever, it happens, one thought that crosses my mind is that why cant they make a better thermometer for babies like my daughter who hates the forehead thermometer!!!

I don't know how this happened but I am so glad, someone has heard the wish of this mom. Yes, the Braun company has came up with really innovative Forehead thermometer. And, being a member of Influenster nation. I got to try it. You cant ask for more, can you?? :) :)
Its name itself suggests how it is different from other forehead thermometer available in the market. Its a forehead thermometer that is perfect for taking body temperature of babies. It comes with dual functions,i.e it can work in Touch as well as No Touch mode. Unlike other touch thermometers, you don't have to swipe it on baby's forehead, just place it between the middle of both the eyebrows and with in seconds the temperature will appear on the screen. And, if you don't want to wake up your sleeping angel then, you can hold the thermometer 5 cm away from baby's forehead and it can sense the temperature without waking up your baby.

I removed it from the box and it was enclosed in a transparent cover. So, I removed that cover. This is how it looks like. The green sticker has to be removed before using.
The batteries came along with the thermometer and they had to be put inside before using.
Just swipe the back cover with your thumb and it will open. Insert the batteries in opposite direction and put the cover back by sliding up. Viola!! you are ready to go..
I like to use the instruments which can be easily handled and used. The design of Braun No Touch+Forehead thermometer has stole my heart. It fits perfectly in your hand, compact, sleek and lightweight.
The button at the bottom, serves as one touch ON and OFF switch. Just push and release, it will turn ON and the same way it can turn OFF. If not used for sometime after switching it On, it will turn OFF automatically.
The blue button below the rounded screen is taking the temperature when you are ready to take it. Just push and release to take the temperature.
When you turn on the thermometer, the screen will lit up with green light showing three dashes. At that time, place the thermometer on the forehead between the center of two eyebrows. Don't swipe, just touch the screen of thermometer with the forehead and press the blue button. The screen will flash the temperature.
A very interesting feature of this thermometer is that there is a yellow guiding light on the back of the display screen. This light will appear when you turn ON the thermometer. This light helps in correctly positioning the thermometer when you are using the No Touch function. If you are baby is sleeping or If he/she hates the thermometer then you can use the No Touch function in which you don't have to touch the thermometer to the baby's forehead. With the help of guiding light correctly position the thermometer approximately 5 cm away from the forehead between the center of two eyebrows. Dont stress out to measure the exact distance because If the position of thermometer is far from the forehead, you will see a arrow sign and "Fwd" appear on the display screen, which means slightly move the thermometer forward for accurate reading. When the position of thermometer is correct, press the blue button and temperature reading will appear on screen.
There is a volume ON and OFF switch on the sides of thermometer that an be used to turn off the beep sound of temperature reading. This is my one of the favorite function of this thermometer because I can take my baby's temperature when she is sleeping. As, She wakes up when she hears the beep sound.
The color coded screen displays different colors as per temperature range, namely, green, yellow and red. This thermometer can be used for kids as well as adults. Consult your doctor, If you have any doubts or you have any concerns about your baby's body temperature.

I just love the Braun No Touch+ Forehead thermometer for my baby because of all the innovative features it has. I am sure all the moms out there will love it too.

"How to create First Aid Box"

#NeoReady #contest

I never made a First Aid Box until I became a mother. I know that sounds really surprising but that's true. The reason being that I have a big storage box in house full with all kind of medicines, ointments, bandages and other medical supplies. Although it is really a hassle finding the medicine you need in any emergency because of lots of items in it. Recently, I decided to stop being lazy and create First Aid Box because you never when you will need it especially with kids.

I took a medium, transparent, white storage box with lid to make the First Aid box. You can use any small lunch box, plastic bag, storage box or make yourself as First Aid Box. Make sure it is easy to carry and place it at a location from where it is easy to find.

These are the items that I put in my First Aid Box:

  1. Bandages- As we all know that kids can easily get hurt while they play or experiment in or around the house, sometimes, while playing in playground too, they can hurt themselves. So, I Stock up the bandages safe and age appropriate for kids. They are suitable in case of minor cuts or bruises. Kids love the ones with cartoon characters on them. I also put some bandages that hubby and I can use too.
  2.  Adhesive Dressings- I put various sizes of adhesive dressings ranging from small to large. So, that I can use it as per the need.
  3. Gauze Pads-  You can find these in any store, comes in different sizes. If bought in large. Always use new and clean gauze pads.
  4. Scissors- A small and sharp scissors
  5. Surgical Tape
  6. Cotton balls- One packet
  7. Antibiotic Ointment- This will be really helpful with kids when you are a home or on the go. The antibiotic ointment keeps the infection out of cuts, scrapes etc. I have put the NEOSPORIN NEO TO GO - First aid antiseptic/pain relieving spray in my First aid box that I received from Influenster for testing purpose This is a really great addition to the First Aid Box as it is easy to use- specially designed, just have to press and spray. Appropriate for kids over 2 yrs and up and doesn't sting the cut. You can also attach it with your key ring or put in the purse or diaper bag if you don't want to take your first aid kit everywhere. Really handy for Moms on the go.
  8. Thermometer- I kept two: one the temporal and other one is oral thermometer.
  9.  Tweezers - 1 pair
  10. Non Latex Gloves- 2 pairs to clean the wound or to remove any dangerous waste
  11. Non- Alcohol wipes- To clean any external surface like wiping off a surface.
  12. Sunscreen- 1 for kids and 1 for adults
  13. Flash Light and Batteries
  14. Medicines- Aspirin and Ibuprofen
  15. Cold pack- 1
  16. List of Emergency Contact numbers
  17. First aid instruction booklet from Red Cross

Always check the expiry date on medicines and other items in your First aid Kit. Don't use any medicine or medical supply after the expiration date. Keep on updating it with important items as you remember or you need like if any person need any allergy medicine or other important medicine.

So, this is what I have included in my First aid box. Let me know, If I have forgotten some important items that I should include. How do you prepare your First aid kit?

Disclosure: I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes and I am entering a Brand Challenge for a chance to win a prize.
